ANSWER: Happy to share an effective response. First, I would like to remind you that I do not count MPC marketing emails as a marketing presentation because I did not talk to them live.
The response I would send would read:
Thanks so much for getting back to me. Let’s connect on LinkedIn. Here is my profile (and give them the link). Is there any background in particular that if I ran across you would really want to hear about? Can you give me a couple bullet points?
When they go to your LinkedIn profile, they are going to see a little bit more about you. Now I am not going to sit there and try to persuade somebody that has no need. I am going to follow up with them in 30 days with another email.
I am not going to sit there and argue with them about why they should need me now. I am going to be very respectful.
That email would read:
Oh, thanks so much for getting back to me. Let’s connect on LinkedIn. Here is my profile. I am out in your space all the time. Is there a couple bullet points of somebody if I ran across them, you would really want to hear about?
